Save and invest every time you move money on-chain

Locker is a consumer savings and investment app built on crypto technology. It makes moving money around the world easier and safer. 

With Locker, you can use EVM smart accounts (ERC-4337) to automate several actions:

### Key features

Every locker includes the following features:

* **Non-custodial:** Your funds always remain under your control.
* **Automated:** Once set up, you never need to sign a transaction again.
* **Secure:** We use minimally scoped [session keys](/how-it-works/session-keys) to move money on your behalf to pre-approved addresses. In the near future we will also allow users to set spending caps and other account firewalls to limit the impact of a compromised account.
* **Sponsored gas:** Locker [covers gas fees](/pricing) for all your transactions. We collect a small service fee for this service.

# Quickstart

Follow these instructions to start using Locker

1. Go to <https://app.locker.money>
2. Select 'Sign up'

3. Enter your email. We use this for notifications. Check your email and enter the 2FA code. You are now logged in.&#x20;
4. Select "Create a Locker"

5. A wallet connect modal will pop-up. Be sure to select the wallet that you want to be in control of your locker. At the moment, this cannot be changed after locker creation.

7. Select the automations you want to enable. Learn more about the options in the [introduction](/).
8. Choose how to allocate your funds. If you chose to forward funds, make sure to check the wallet address funds will be sent to. By default, funds will be sent to the wallet you used to connect.

9. After selecting 'Enable automations' you'll need to sign a transaction. Behind the scenes, this generates a session key which gives Locker limited permission to move funds on your behalf.&#x20;
10. For your own security, automations are chain specific.  At this point, you've enabled automations for a single chain. # Privacy & Security

* **You are the owner:** Your locker is owned by the wallet you connect when you create it.
* **Automation:** By automating actions, Locker only gets minimal permissions to perform specific tasks on your behalf.
* **Session Keys:** We use session keys, similar to OAuth permissions, to limit what the app can do for you. Learn more about session keys [here](https://docs.zerodev.app/sdk/advanced/session-keys).
* **Consistency:** Your address is the same across all supported chains, meaning you’ll have a consistent address on every chain.
* **Future Enhancements:** Soon, users will be able to set spending caps and other account protections to minimize the risk if an account is compromised.

### What is Locker?

Locker is a company that builds custom, programmable modules for smart accounts that are compliant with [ERC-4337](https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-4337).

When users sign up for Locker, they can create a smart account called a "locker", enabling them to use Locker's flagship automatic payment routing module.

### What can I do with Locker?

Locker allows users who get paid in crypto to automatially save and invest a portion of their earnings, every time they get paid.&#x20;

After initial setup, payments received at a user's locker will get automatically distributed based on the chosen allocation settings. The allocation settings can be adjusted at any time.

### Does it cost money to use Locker?

Yes. Locker charges a small percentage fee each time a payment is received in a user's locker. More details coming soon.&#x20;

No fees will be charged during beta testing.

### Are lockers self-custodial?

Yes. Lockers are smart contract accounts that each user owns entirely.&#x20;

When creating a locker, users must connect an externally owned account (EOA) that can be the owner of their locker.

### What chains are currently supported?

Currently, we support Arbitrum One, Base, Optimism, Avalanche C-Chain, and Polygon.&#x20;

Support for more chains is coming soon.

### How does Locker securely move users' funds?

Currently, the secure movement of users' funds is possible thanks to [ZeroDev's session keys](https://docs-v4.zerodev.app/blog/session-keys-are-the-jwts-of-web3), which allow users to give Locker (the company) very granular permissions to perform specific actions on their behalf.

Later, Locker plans to accomplish this functionality and more via [ERC-7579 modules](https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-7579).

### I enabled automations and deposited money but my automations didn't happen.
